Armexa Defense Group is a professional training organization built on real-world law enforcement and military experience. We specialize in firearms and tactical training designed to develop confident, capable individuals who can perform under pressure. Our mission is to provide practical, high-quality instruction for both law enforcement and responsibly armed civilians, focusing on real-world application, safety, and performance.

Alex Farganis - Owner

Alex Farganis is a highly experienced law enforcement professional, instructor, and founder of Armexa Defense Group, with over 22 years of service in the field.

Alex began his career as a Correctional Officer, where he quickly recognized the critical importance of training, preparation, and mindset. It was during this time that he developed a strong passion for teaching and mentoring others—something that would become a cornerstone of his career.

For the past 15 years, Alex has served as a full-time Pennsylvania State Constable, actively working in the field while continuing to advance his role as an instructor and leader within the profession. Since 2016, he has been an approved instructor through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), providing training to constables across the Commonwealth.

In addition to his operational and instructional roles, Alex works with Temple University in curriculum development, where he has played a key role in designing and enhancing training programs for the Constable Training Program, Sheriff’s Program, and Park Ranger Academy—helping shape the next generation of public safety professionals.

Alex holds numerous instructor-level certifications, including:

  • NRA Law Enforcement Instructor (Handgun, Shotgun, and Patrol Rifle)
  • Red Dot Instructor
  • Armed Vehicle Defense Instructor
  • Threat Pattern Use of Force Instructor
  • Instructor Trainer for OCAT, PPBT, PATH, and PCCD through Personal Protection Consultants, Inc.
  • First Aid / CPR / AED Instructor
  • Stop the Bleed Instructor

Dave Bolton - Director of Training

Dave Bolton brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and real-world expertise to Armexa Defense Group’s instructor cadre.

Dave served 15 years in the United States Army as an Infantryman, where he developed a strong foundation in tactical operations, discipline, and the warrior mindset that would define his career.

Following his military service, Dave continued his commitment to public service in law enforcement, retiring after 24 years as a Deputy Sheriff with the rank of Sergeant of the K-9 Division. Throughout his distinguished career, he served in several specialized roles, including:

  • Deputized U.S. Marshal assigned to the Fugitive Apprehension Unit
  • Lead Department Trainer, instructing both new recruits and experienced deputies

Dave has extensive instructional experience across a wide range of disciplines, including:

  • Handgun, Shotgun, and Patrol Rifle
  • Defensive Tactics
  • Active Shooter Response
  • Building Search and Entry Tactics
  • And more

With over 21 years as a K-9 handler, Dave has completed advanced training in all aspects of law enforcement K-9 deployment and operations. His expertise plays a key role in the continued development of specialized K-9 training programs at Armexa Defense Group.
